How your data is kept
Without signing in
Your shelves, reading places, bookmarks, highlights and notes stay in this browser only. Nothing is sent to us. Clearing your browser data, or using a private window, removes them.
If you sign in
We keep your email address and a copy of your library (shelves, places, bookmarks, highlights, notes, followed authors and reading minutes) so that every device you sign in on shows the same. We use your email only to send sign-in codes. We never sell or share it, and there is no advertising or tracking on this site.
If you make a shelf public, its books and the name you choose are shown at your public link. Your email, notes and progress are never shown.
“Readers who finished this also read” is counted from signed-in readers’ libraries without naming anyone, and shown only when at least three readers share a book.
Removing your data
In My reading → Settings, Delete my account removes your email and the copy of your library from our server at once. You can also download a copy of your library there first.
